People are only allowedto leave their homes
- for health reasons,
- for emergencies,
- to buy essential goods (food and medicines),
- for work reasons.
These shall be proved by producing official documentation, including a self-certification form.

In the event of checks, the work reason will have to be declared. The Authorities will then verify the truthfulness of the declaration and impose sanctions in case anyone is caught giving a false reason. It is however strongly recommended to work through telecommuting where possible, or to take holidays or periods of leave. If you go out to a supermarket, a pharmacy or to see a doctor, always wear face-mask and gloves. Public access to parks, play areas and public gardens is prohibited. Playing outside is not allowed; you are is still allowed to walk or run alone around your place, as long as the 1 meter rule of social distance is respected. As to immigration law compliance, we would like to remind you that under Article 9 of the Law Decree issued on March 2, 2020 there will be more tolerance for those citizens who are not in a position to adhere to the following conditions:Request for an appointment to sign the Job Contract (Contratto di Soggiorno) within 8 days after entering Italy (this is a mandatory step to process the following Residence Permit application)Residence Permit renewal application in the 60 days preceding or following the permit expiry date. |
