Below is the list of the extraordinary anti-Covid measures issued by the Italian Government for the period between December 21, 2020, and January 6, 2021:
December 21-23: yellow zone
- Only travel within regions will be allowed, except for proven working needs, health reasons or situations of urgency.
- Shops as well as bars and restaurants will be permitted to remain open until 6.00pm; takeaway services will be allowed until 10.00pm.
December 24-25-26-27: red zone
- During this four-day period, all of Italy will be on lockdown, with prohibition of movement, except for proven working needs, health reasons or situations of urgency.
- Shops will be closed, except for supermarkets, pharmacies, newsstands and tobacco shops.
- Bars and restaurants will be closed.
- Home visits to relatives and friends will be limited to 2 people max. (plus any children under 14 years of age).
December 28-29-30 and January 4: orange zone
- Only travel within municipalities or between municipalities with less than 5,000 inhabitants will be allowed.
- Shops will be open.
- Bars and restaurants will be closed.
- The night curfew will be in force from 10.00am to 5.00pm.
December 31 – January 1-2-3-5-6: red zone
The lockdown will be back, with the same measures as applicable between December 24 and December 27.
January 7: yellow zone
Italy will be placed back in the yellow zone, travel between regions being allowed.
